Loads and Forces Flashcards
Loads, forces
1
Q
Force
A
A force is a push or pull upon an object resulting from the objects interaction with another object, or person and can act in any direction.
Whenever there is an interaction between two objects, there is a force upon each.
2
Q
Load
A
A mass or weight supported by something. (Mass x Gravity) Almost always in a downward direction.
Whenever there is a load supported there is a force appied.
WHen a load is not supported there is still a gravitational Force applied.
When external forces are applied to an object, internal forces develop resistance to the outside forces. (Stresses)
