LO5.2 Data Flow Diagrams: - What are Data Flow Diagrams ?

A

Maps out flow of info for any process or system,

Shows data flows through system.

Shows movement of data between external entities, processes & data stores within a systen,

Level 0 DFD - context diagrams & show a data system in limited detail shows overall flow of data through whole system.

Level 1 DFD - Focus on system & are therefore in more detail than a level 0 DFD.

17
Q

LO5.2: - Data Flow Diagrams: - What are Data Flows ?

A

Flows of data between entities & processes & data stores.

Route data takes between external processes & dat stores.

18
Q

LO5.2: - Impact affecting the flow of information in information systems.

A

Delays due to lack of communication.

Information Characterisitcs

Human Error - data being incomplete or lost.

Hardware- System failure could lead to delay in flow of information or lack of storage could mean data isn’t saved correctly.
