a peak flow is the rate of expired air, measured on a hand- held device.

an inhaler is a method of getting medication directly into the lungs. may be pressurised. two types- relievers (blue) that dilate the bronchi during an attack and preventers (red, brown or orange) that reduce sensitivity and inflammation of the bronchi.

a nebuliser is a mouth piece or facemask that introduces medication to the lungs as a fine spray.
