Hip joint is what type of joint?
Synovial ball and socket
What is the acetabular labrum? What is its function?
Fibrocartilaginous ring in the acetabulum. It deepens the cavity, increases surface area and increases strength of the hip joint
What are the 3 main ligaments of the hip joint?
Iliofemoral Ischiofemoral Pubofemoral
What movements happen at the hip joint?
Flexion/Extension
Adduction/Abduction
Lateral/medial rotation
What two muscles share a common attatchment on the femur, and what is the name given to the two muscles at this point (when they converge what muscle do they become?)
Psoas major and Illiacus

Flexion of hip
