Respiration is the release of energy from food.
Sensitivity
Living things are aware of what is around them.
Animals can react quickly.
Plants react to light,water and gravity slowly.
Feeding
Plants make their own food.
Animals need to eat plants or other animals to get energy.
Excretion
Excretion is the removal of wastes that have been made in the body of an animal or plant sweat, carbon dioxide, Ernie and water are excreted by animals.
Water and oxygen are excreted by plants.

Vertebrates have a backbone E.g. human, dog, fish, birds.
Invertebrates do not have a backbone E.g. worms, insects, snails.
