To emphasise how shocking the abstract noun “miraculous” is

Impersonal pronoun - desperation and emphasis that it is not a home

Their standard of living. It is a literal representation (use of mimisis)
What does the use of enjambment show?
An ongoing problem
What does slanted universe suggest?
Unfair and disproportionate
What is the last line?
Bright thin walls of faith - the simile shows their faith but that it’s fragile (still hope and promise of a new life)
