Hepatitis B after abnormal liver test?
A
- Start with surface antigen, to find out if infected.
- Treat when actively replicating, so test for viral DNA
- Next, determine extent of inflammation or fibrosis of the liver
- Fibroscan or biopsy, and liver enzymes. Remember that high normal might be inflammed

Cirrhosis
A
- AST above ALT, need to rule out etoh
- Get cholestatic, issues moving bile out, get ALP rise
- Low platelets
- Portal hypertension, splenic vein backs up, enlarges spleen amd get sequesteration of the plaelets
- Then younget lover dysfunction and clinical disfunction, INR goes up with bili, albumin goes down
- ascites varices and HE
