a form of literature that depicts portrayal of imaginary characters and events as in novels, short stories and drama

a form of literature that depicts compilation of literary works which are based on facts; an essay falls under this form
Non-Fiction
specific forms of literature written in lines and stanzas
Poetry
the specific forms literature written in sentences and paragraphs
Prose
A classification of literature that interprets life as is, without further decolorization nor little modification; purposed for pleasure and entertainment. The writer presents life as dull, boring, happy, enjoyable, simple, and complex
Interpretative Literature
A classification of literature that takes us away from the reality of life, its sole purpose is for entertainment or pleasure. The writer perceives the world as forever beautiful and haven of peace, free from human problems; the fairy tales stories are good examples
Escape Literature
an example of functions of literature in man where the theme and moral message has a common objective, which is to make a man a better person, cultured and refined
Moralizing Literature
a function of literature in man where reward and punishment are the language of this function. These are commonly known as essays of criticisms and commendations
Propaganda Literature
a function of literature in man that refers to the relief acquired by the reader after his encounter with the characters of a literary piece
Psychological/Therapeutic value
it is an element of literature that screens a literary piece whether it is dull or interesting; the emotion of the reader may be touched or moved by the author through his style and choice of word
Emotional Appeal
Authorities of literature believe that the following words appeal to man’s emotion: agony, love, soul, pain, heart, triumph
Emotional Appeal
if a literary piece helped in making a man a better person, refined and well cultured, then humanistic appeal was achieved
