What is a protagonist?
The main character in a story, usually the good or heroic guy.
What is an antagonist?
The person or force that opposes (goes against) the protagonist.
What is the plot?
The action and events that make up the story.
What is the setting?
The place and time where the story takes place.
What is foreshadowing?
A warning or hint about a future event in the story.
What is the theme?
The authors message about life or human nature that must be inferred by the reader.
What is the point of view?
The perspective from which a story is told.
What is the first person point of view?
Told from the protagonists point of view.
What is a third person point of view?
Story told from the narrators point of view.
What is conflict?
A problem or struggle between two opposing forces in a story.

What is an internal conflict?
A struggle within the character, a difficult decision that the character has to make.

What is a climax?
The turning point in the story.
What is the rising action?
The central part part of the story where there are more conflicts and the action builds.
