Epistrophe
the repetition of a word at the end of the sentence
alternate rhyme
also known as ABAB
A- two lines end in a given rhyme
B- the next two lines end in a different rhyme
alliteration
the same sound or letter at the beginning of connected words
assonance
resemblance of sound between syllables or near by words
allegory
a story poem or picture that can interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning
anaphora
repeating a sequence of words at the beginning
antithesis
a person or thing that is the direct opposite of someone or something else
anadiplosis
repetition of the last word which is used at the beginning of the next sentence
zoomorphism
when animal characteristics are assigned to a human
cadence
a modulation of the voice
