Biography
An account of someone’s life written by someone else
Character motivation
The reason why he or she feels a certain way
Central conflict
A struggle between opposing forces
Flashback
A scene that happened earlier that interrupts the current story
Foreshadowing
To hint clues at something bigger in the future
Imagery
Words or phrases that the writer uses to describe an event
Plot
The basis of the story that can be divided into rising action, climax, and falling action.
Setting
The time, events, and location of a story
Connecting
The idea of relating your life and the character or events in the story
Antagonist and protagonist
The antagonist is the enemy of the protagonist, who is the good guy
Visualize
To picture something in your mind
Question
To evaluate what is happening in a story
Predict
To guess what will happen
