Setting
the place or type of surroundings where something is positioned/ where an event takes place.
Plot
the main events of a play, novel, movie, or similar work, devised and presented by the writer as an interrelated sequence.
Characterization
the creation of construction of a fictional character. Revealing personality.
Alliteration
the occurrence of the same letter or sound at the beginning or adjacent or closely connected words.
Conflict
a serious disagreement, typically a protracted one. Opposing force that creates dramatic interest.
Simile
The comparison of 1 thing with another thing of a different kind, used to make a description more empathic or vivid. Uses the words “like” or “as”.
Metaphor
Direct Comparison not using the words “like” or “as”
Personification
the attribution of a personal nature or human characteristics to something nonhuman, or the representation of an abstract quality.
Hyperbole
exaggerated statements or claims that meant to be taken literally.
Allusion
an expressed designed to call something to mind without mentioning it explicitly; an indirect or passing reference. Something well-known.
Tone
the general character or attitude of a place, piece of writing , situation, ect. Author feels.
Mood
the emotional response that the writer wishes to evoke in the reader through a story. Reader feels.
Situational Irony
Something takes place that is different or the opposite of what is expected to happen.
Verbal Irony
someone says is different from and opposite to what they actually mean.
Pun
a play of word to create a humerous affect.
