Sibilance
Lots of S sounds creating a hissing sound effect
Assonance
Repeated vowel sounds- e.g. the pond is long gone
Effect- to grab readers attention
Plosives
p, b,d, t, k sounds used as a verbal reflection of things with a harsh feel like anger
Hyperbole
extreme exaggeration to add effect
Consonance
this is repeated consonant sounds- a little later
Anaphora
Repetition of words or expression at the beginning of successive phrases,
for example/. we did, we went, we conquered
Prose
This is typically used by people of higher social structure in plays such as Romeo and Juliet
Blank verse
This is what people lower down the structure speak in plays such as romeo and juliet
Oxymoron
