what is Author’s purpose?
An authors purpose is his reason for or intent in writing
What are rhetorical devices?
A technique that an author or speaker uses to convey to the listener or reader a meaning with the goal of persuading them towards considering a topic from a perspective.
what is symbol?
a mark or character used as a conventional representation of an object, function, or process.
what is theme?
the subject of a talk, a piece of writing, a person’s thoughts, or an exhibitationia topic.
what is inference?
A conclusion reached on the basics of evidence and reasoning.
what is parallelism?
A state of being parallel or of corresponding in some way.
what is Repetition?
The action of repeating something that has already been said or written.
what is text structure?
to the way authors organize information in text.
what is simile?
a comparison using-like, as, than, resembles.
what is supporting textual evidence?
to look back into the text for evidence.
what is Metaphor?
a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable.
