Apophtgegm
Aphorism or maxim
Aporia
A speaker deliberates or purports to be in doubt
Eg. Well, what can one say?
Eg. To be or not to be! (Hamlet)

Aposiopesis
Rhetorical device in which the speaker suddenly breaks off in the middle of a sentence, leaving the sense unfinished
It makes a strong emotion that makes the reader unwilling to know the rest.
Eg. Kings Lear
I will have such revenge on you both
That all the world shall—
Syn. Anacoluthon : grammatical term for a change of construction in a sentence that leaves the initial construction unfinished
