What is an adjective?
A describing word!
What is a verb?
A doing word!
What is an adverb?
Word that describes an action!
What is a simile?
A comparison using ‘like’, ‘as’ or ‘than’!
What is a metaphor?
A comparison that is made without pointing out a similarity!
What is personification?
When the writer describes an abstraction, a thing, or a nonhuman form as it were a person!
What is a symbol?
Something that stands or is a sign of another thing!
What is pathetic fallacy?
The assignment of human feelings to inanimate objects!
What is hyperbole?
Exaggerated language!
What is Triadic structure/triples?
Three parallel clauses, phrases, or words, which happen to come in quick succession without any interruption!
What is alliteration?
The repetition of a series of words within a phrase!
What is a list?
The list of words, ideas or items!
What is a rhetorical question?
A question asked in order to create a dramatic effect or to make a point rather than to get an answer!
What is allegory?
A story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning!
What is Protagonist?
The leading character or one of the major characters!
What is antagonist?
An antagonist is a character in a story who is presented as the chief foe of the protagonist!
What is the plot?
The events of the story!
What is the context?
Background or information, to inform why something is taking place!
What is the setting?
Where and when the events of the story take place!
What is the atmosphere?
Feeling, emotion, and/or mood a writer conveys to the reader through the description of setting and objects!
