Does not display emotional depth

Only 1 persons thoughts
What is 3rd person omniscient?
U know all peoples thoughts, like god

You don’t know any persons feelings or thoughts
What is the setting of a story?
Time, place, circumstances, atmosphere
What is a character?
The people whom the events happen
What is a protagonist?
Around whom the action develops;the main character
What is an antagonist?
The opposing force in the conflict with the main character
What 6 elements are in every story?
Setting, character, plot, conflict, point of view and theme
What is a plot?
Sequence of events that make the action of the story
What is the conflict?
Struggle that arises between the protagonist and some other person or thing
What is the point of view?
The manner he story is told/ who is telling the story
What is the theme?
The general idea, universal. NOT the subject
What is an alliteration?
Repitition of similar sounds
Ex: peter piper picked a peck of peppers
What is an allusion?
Refers to a subject, place, event or literary work
What is a diction?
Tone of writing influenced by word choice
Ex: saying ‘like’ all the time
What is a flashback?
Before the present time
What is a foreshadowing?
Hints that reveal something that’s going to happen
What is a hyperbole?
Exaggeration
Ex: I am so tired I cannot walk another inch
What is an imagery?
Creates a mental image, very descriptive. Uses the senses
