What is Plot?
Plot is the chain of events in a story in other words what happens in a story.
Exposition?
The start of the story background info about things in the story.
Rising action?
The point in which the story “Takes off” and begins to build towards a climax.
Climax?
The highest part of action in a story {turning point}.
Falling action?
Events after a climax when the story starts to wrap up.
Resolution?
The ending of the story.
Name two types of conflict.
Man vs man, man vs self, man vs nature, man vs society
Setting?
The time, place and circumstances of the story
S T E A L?
S is for speech T is for thoughts E is for effects on others A is for Actions L is for looks {things like dying hair ect.}
Flat?
Isn’t well developed the reader only know 1-2 traits sum them up in a senntence
Round?
We know a bunch about them they’re complacated.
Static?
Doesn’t change or grow stays the same. Static Stays the Same
Dynamic?
Changes a lot in the story
Protagonist?
Main character sometimes the “good guy”
Antagonist?
Against the main character sometimes the “bad guy”
Theme is?
The message the author is trying to get across to the reader.
1st person point of view?
A character usually the main character, tells the story usually uses “I”
2nd person point of view?
Rarely used, the reader is treated as a character in the story usually uses “You”
3rd person?
An outside narrator, not a character tells the story usually uses “He” or “She’
3rd person limited?
The narrator only knows what one person is thinking
3rd person omniscient?
Omniscient means “all knowing” this narrator knows what everyone is thinking
Man vs man
a struggle between two or more characters
Man vs nature
A struggle between a character and a force of nature
Man vs society
A struggle between a character and his or her society
