Round character
Highly developed character with many traits
Character
Individuals who participate in the action of literary work
Flat character
A character who exhibits few traits, not well developed and we know little about them
Static character
One who remains the same throughout the story
Dynamic character
One who changes throughout the story
Direct characterization
When the tells you exactly what they are like
Indirect characterization
You learn about them through other things. ( physical appearance, actions, what they say, what others say about them)
Internal conflict
Is one that occurs within a character
External conflict
Involves a character pitted against an outside force , such as nature, a physical obstacle, or another character
Plot
The sequence of events in a story
Setting
Time and place of the action in a work of literature
Theme
Underlying message about life or human nature that the writer shares with the reader.
Allusion
Indirect reference to a famous person, place, event, or literary work.
Diction
A writers or speakers choice of words and way of arranging the words in a sentence
Foreshadowing
A writers use of hints or clues to suggest events that will include later on in the story
