Metaphor
Compare objects by directly identifying one thing as another

Compares two things using the words “like” or “as”

A type of personification where emotions are given to a setting, an object or the weather

Refers to the methods that writer used to develop characters.

Foreshadowing
Like the banners mentioned earlier on in the novel Macbeth it is for shown and will happen later in the story
Imagery
Anything that affects or appeals to the reader’s five senses.
Rhetorical Question
A question with an obvious answer or no answer at all
Soliloquy
A character’s speech to the audience, in which emotion and ideas are revealed.
