What is Dramatic Irony
When the audience or readers understanding of events or individual in a work goes beyond that of its character
What is a foil
A character that contrasts with another character, usually the protagonist, to highlight the protagonist’s qualities.
What is foreshadowing
A narrative device in which the a story teller gives advance hint of what is to come later in the story
What is a hyperbole
Deliberate, extravagant, and often outrageous, and exaggeration.

A character or group that is blamed for the problems of other characters even though they are not responsible

Used to compare two things using words “like” “as”
what is situational irony
When an expected outcome does not happen or its opposite happens instead
what is style
The way the writers chooses to write which includes their word choice. Sentence structure and tone. It’s the combination of these choices that creates a unique “voice” for a piece of writing.
what is suspense
Creates a feeling of excitement or anxious uncertainty in the reader about what will happen next in the story

A literary device that uses a person, object, word, or situation, to represent something else. It’s a way for writers to communicate ideas and themes that are more than what they can express literally
