Rhythm
A strong, regular, repeated pattern of movement or sound, mainly used in poetry and engages the reader.
Rhyme
Repetition of sounds at the end of words, engages the reader
Metaphor
A comparison without using like or as, describes a noun in a sentence using another noun.
Simile
A comparison using “like” or “as”, describes a noun in a sentence using another noun.
Alliteration
the occurrence of the same letter at the beginning of a word consecutively.
Mood
it is what we are made to feel
Tone
the authors attitude to the topic
Repitition
to enforce an opinion on a topic, a phrase or sentence is repeated through out the text
Rhetorical question
a question not meant to be answered, to hook the reader
Anecdotes
A brief personal story from the author to humane them
Pun
A humorous phrase to make the reader laugh
Personification
Giving inanimate objects human charecteristics
Connotation
Either a positive or negative sentence which appeals to the reader
Symbolism
Using pictures and symbols to convey a message
