Sweetened flavored spirits.
Made with neutral base spirit with flavor added: infusion, percolate distillation)
Examples Citrus liqueurs
Cointreau: sweet & bitter orange peels
blended with spirit sugar & water. Crystal colored. (France)
Grand Marnier: bitter orange peels & spices & vanilla with a CAGNACC base aged in French oak barrels.
Triple sec: orange flavored liqueur, crystal colored.
Curaçao: similar to Cointreau.

Chocolate liqueurs
Creme de cacao: vanilla flavored
Royal mint chocolate liqueur: pale green mint & chocolate - flavored liqueur
Coffee liqueur
Kahlua: rum & coffee (Mexican)
Tia Maria: rum & coffee beans & vanilla & spices & sugar
Crème de cafe: roasted coffee beans macerated in spirit.
Cream liqueurs
Baileys: blend of Irish cream & Irish whiskey
Devonshire Royal: blend of whisky, brandy & Devonshire cream
Herb - nut liqueurs
Amaretto: apricot stones or almonds- Italian
Frangelico: hazelnuts, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, herbs, flowers- Italian
Anissette, Ouzo, Sambuca : aniseed or star anise
Galliano: herb-flavored ( Harvey- Wallbanger cocktail)
Malibu: Jamaican rum & coconut flavor
Saint- Germaine: elderflower
Canton: Ginger
Whisky based liqueurs
Drambuie: scotch whisky,heater honey, herbs & spices
Southern Comfort: base of American whiskies blended with apricots & spices
Glayua: blend of aged whiskies, tangerines, cinnamon, almonds & honey
Benedictine
Secrete recipe: blend of brandy, 27 other ingredients, herbs, seeds, spices.
Dissolved in copper still and matured in wood for 4 months
Frappe (service term)
Is made by purring a measure of liqueur into a cocktail glass- brandy glass, filled with crushed ice & served with 2half straws
