Three types of port wines
Vintage: Vintage is the highest classification declared by the Denomination. It must be bottled between the second and third year after the harvest year and usually requires aging in the bottle (sometimes for dozens of years).
Port comes from grapes cultivated in Portugal’s Douro Valley. Douro became an official appellation in 1756, and is the third oldest protected wine region in the world after Chianti (Italy) and Tokaj (Hungary).
Douro has three official Port production zones:
Baixo Corgo-Бейксо корго
Cima Corgo-чима корго
Douro Superior
