Q

What proportion of lipids are carried around in the body?

A

~2% of lipids (mostly fatty acids) are carried bound to albumin but there is a limited capacity (~3mmol/L)

~98% of lipids are carried as lipoprotein particles that consist of phospholipid, cholesterol, cholesterol esters, proteins and TAG
