Intro
After starting my degree in 2012 I wanted to get some practical experience working for a software company.
A family friend at the time had his own software consultancy and had a lot of work in the pipeline.
I started doing some very simple work to help out and enjoyed it and eventually in 2014 I left my retail job and started working part time when I had learned enough from my course.
Who were the clients?
Company was funded by the owner contracting for other companies but Linian had their own applications focused around stock price research and software to support running scans, placing orders, viewing charts etc.
Linian currently use the software themselves for investments, they may license it out in the future if it’s successful long term.
How many employees?
The owner, myself part time, and 2 or 3 contractors doing parts of work when needed.
Where is the company based?
Linian is based in Northern Ireland but I am able to work remotely from home.
Why are you in London?
My husband works in London and I have been living here for over a year.
Why do you want to leave there?
I have finished my degree now and would like to work full time.
Most of the project at Linian is finished and they can’t afford to keep me on as a full time employee.
