Q

Nasal Gastric Tube

A

plastic or rubber tube inserted through the nasopharynx down into the esophagus into the stomach.

Does not require the use of sterile gloves
Nurse or NP does this bedside

The primary use of a NG tube is decompression or removal of flatus or fluids from the stomach.

16
Q

Medical Technique

A

Involves a reduction in numbers of infectious agents which in turn decreases the probability of infection, but does reduce them to zero.

Radiologic technologists use medical aseptic technique.

17
Q

Sterilization

A

Complete removal of microorganisms
-most common method of sterilization:AUTOCLAVE

18
Q

Myelograms:

A

visualize spinal cord

19
Q

Arthrograms

A

examining joints after injecting dye
