Lines & Angles Flashcards
Secants
Two lines intersecting
Bisector
Line intersects another exactly in the middle
Parallel Lines
Two or more lines which are the same distance apart
Perpendicular lines
Adds up to 90 degrees
Acute Angle
Greater then 0 but smaller then 90
Right Angle
Equal to 90
Obtuse Angle
Greater then 90 but smaller then 180
Straight Angle
Equal to 180
Reflex Angle
Greater then 180 but smaller then 360
Revolution
Equal to 360
Adjacent Angles
Common vertex, two angles on either side of the arm
Complementary Angles
Sum of 90 degrees
Supplementary Angles
Sum of 180
Straight Lines
Straight line is 180 degrees
Vertically opposite Angles
Two lines intersect each other, the vertically opposite angles are equal in size
Angles around a point / Revolution
Sum of all the Angles = 360 degrees
Corresponding Angles
Form an F shape
Alternate Angles
Form a Z shape
Co-interior Angles
Form a U
Perpendicular Lines
Make 90 degree Angles where they intersect
Parallel lines
Same distance across. Will never intersect
Bisector
Intersects another line exactly in the middle
Isosceles triangle
Two of the three sides are of equal length
Equilateral triangle
All Angles = 60, all side lengths are equal
