Parallel to the x axis. It doesn’t intersect with the x axis at all

Parallel to the y axis, it doesn’t intersect with the y axis
What does y=3x look like?
It goes through the origin/centre/(0,0)
What is the gradient intersect form?
y=mx+b
In the gradient intercept form what is m?
The gradient. How you find the slope(rise over run)
In the gradient intercept form what does b stand for?
The y-intercept
From a line how do you find m?
From two points, find the amount the line goes up(rise) and put it over the amount it goes across(run)
How do you find b from a straight line?
It’s the y intercept
What is the formula to find the midpoint of a line?
m=x1+x2 y1+y2
/2 , /2
How do you find the length of a line?
Find the two sides using the scale, then use Pythagoras
How do you find the gradient of perpendicular lines?
m2=-1/m1
How do you find the intersecting point between two lines?
Solve the simultaneous equation, and the answer to that is the intersecting point
How do you find the x intercept?
Sub y=0 into the equation
