(putting a protective arm around AMELIA)

ANGELINA

(ANGELINA and MAGGIE shake hands
MAGGIE
Hi, I’m Maggie, and this is my best friend and famed aviator Amelia Earhart!
AMELIA
Gee, thanks so much, pilot! I’m honored!
MAGGIE
Umm, I don’t mean to ruin the moment, but why are you here? My workshop isn’t a place just anyone can find.
AMELIA
Roger that! I would be honored. As long as it doesn’t interfere with my flight plan. Maggie, you’ll come too, right?
MAGGIE

ANGELINA
(Enter TM; burst onto stage with MAGGIE/AMELIA)

Maggie Jones and Amelia Earhart, at your service!
ANGELINA
And Cleopatra, in the modern world, women aren’t looked down quite as much. We still have work to do, but it would be an eye-opening experience for you.
MAGGIE

CLEOPATRA
What’s a “president”?
MAGGIE
A president is a leader people vote for. It’s called a democracy.
CAESAR
No slaves? Deem-ocracy?
MAGGIE
Yes, because all men are created equal.
ANGELINA
Let’s see… we have two more to go. Let’s get a move on; I’m so sorry for dragging you all through time and space.
MAGGIE
It’s fine! This is such a cool opportunity to see things! Ooh, where are we off to next?

MAGGIE
(amazed)
It’s so festive here! Look at all the colors everywhere!
CLEOPATRA
I mean, I think you’re correct. It just seems unnatural.
MAGGIE
What do you propose?
(looks over at AMELIA)
ANGELINA
(walks over to the group)
What’s going on? Why are you all over here?
MAGGIE
We…have our doubts about Harvey Milk over there. He’s so— just— different from us. We don’t know if he can be trusted.

(looks towards Angelina and friends kindly)

MAGGIE

AMELIA
Maybe our stories are more powerful because we died early.
MAGGIE

ANGELINA

MAGGIE
(inspecting the time machine, pulls out wrench)
Did this Dr. Who person tell you how to repair it? Were there blueprints, or an instruction manual?
