1st opening paragraph part 1
I would like to welcome you all to the celebration of my company’s 20-year anniversary and my 40th. I am so glad that all of you were able to attend this evening.
1st opening paragraph part 2
I am aware that I may not have seen eye to eye, but I am hoping we can look past that and all enjoy this evening. Now don’t stand there so glumly, it’s a celebration, have a drink, have a dance, go anywhere you like. Go and enjoy yourselves.
How did you end up with a miserable lump like that?
Alan don’t take what she says to heart she means well and let’s be honest you do look a bit grumpy, it’s not every day the love of your life turns 40, live a little, at least for me.
Scene 2 cut to black
What is so important that you’ve had to drag me out here, it’s cold you know Alan
Well, I just wanted to talk to you about something, away from everybody else
I still don’t get why we couldn’t do this inside
Because I didn’t want anybody else hearing what I want to tell you.
Weird but go on…
It’s not like that, just listen
I am.
Alan: One minute, people are coming.
Andie: Sure, I’ll go along with you but just so you know, you sound like you’ve done something bad.
Rebecca: And congrats on your prospering business!
Andie: Thanks guys, I hope you’re enjoying the party, I’ll catch up with you two later, yeah?
(Kate & Rebecca exit)
Andie: So, what is it that you want to talk to me about.
(Alan leaves)
Andie: Hey Kelly.
Sister: Don’s hey Kelly me, you know what I want to talk to you about!
Andie: What is with everyone today, I don’t know what you’re on about, what the hell are you on?
Laura: Hey, that seemed intense, what was that about?
Andie: Hey, it’s fine, just that some people can’t wait until after my birthday to sort out business problems.
Laura: That sucks, if there’s anything I can do to help please let me know.
Andie: Wouldn’t you want my business to fail, I mean considering I’m your biggest competitor and all that.
Laura: You say that, but I want to beat you out of business on fair grounds not because family problems.
Andie: Aw how sweet that you think that you can actually run me out of business, keep dreaming.
