How is transfer function relevant to filtering theory.

A

Design system with transfer function that filters out unwanted noise and frequency components. E.g. Design filter where H(s) has low pass characteristic to remove high frequency. System must be in quiescent state when input applied for output to be completely characterised transfer function.

Effect of increasing the period (making signal aperiodic) on amplitude (frequency) spectrum

A

Reduces w0, reducing the interval between the frequency components. When limit tends to infinity, frequency components transforms into continuous curve in frequency space. Amplitude us also tenda to zero for the fourier (frequency) components.
