A

A
- everything that happens in the play, but different from story.
- it must follow a sequence beginning, middle, end

- must have unities:
- time, place and action
- anything that doesn’t support the plot is irrelevant and should be removed

ACTION OF CHARACTER
A
- moves a plot.
- Hamartia: the hero must be good, but have a tragic flaw
- Peripeteia: this flaw, brings a turn of events
- Anagnorisis: coincides where it goes from ignorant to knowledgeable

PROBLEMS
A
- creates a desire for the protagonist to reach their intended goal but what if is problematic

A
- to arise emotion, pity, and fear
- develop empathy for the character
- it encourages passivity and endorses a single perspective
