Q

EGT

A

Ground:
Start - 925* (845)
Military/afterburner - 630-650

Flight:
Start - 925*
Military/afterburner - 630-650

*abort start if EGT reaches 845. Abort aircraft during ground start if EGT exceeds 925 momentarily

Total fluctuations of +- 7.5 are acceptable if the average EGT is between 630-650

Nozzle Position

A

Ground:

Idle - 77-92
Mil - 0-20
Max/AB - 50-85

Flight:

Mil - 0-20
Max/AB - 50-85

Fluctuation limits:

Idle - none
Mil/AB (both) - +-3

*following rapid throttle movements, nozzle position should stabilise within 10 seconds

Takeoff should be aborted if afterburner fails to light within 5 seconds or the light off is abnormal

Q

Fuel Flow

A

Ground:

Start - 360 (max)
Idle - 400-600 (stnd day)
Mil - 2100-2700 (sea level)

Flight:

Start - 360
Idle - 200 (min)

Fluctuation:

Idle (ground) - +-25
Mil/AB (both) - +-50

*during start, ff may momentarily transit above 360 after advancing the throttle to idle during start sequence, but should return to < 360 prior to EGT rise

Q

Oil Pressure

A

Ground:

Idle - 5-20
Mil/AB - 20-55

Flight:

Idle - 5 (min)
Mil/AB - 20-55

Fluctuations:

All: +-2

*do not advance throttle above idle without a positive oil pressure.
*During cold weather, oil pressure may exceed limitation-normal if pressure decreases as temp rises.
*do not exceed 5 mins in mil power with oil pressure >55.
*if a sudden change of 10 psi occurs at any stabilised RPM, follow engine oil malfunctions procedures
*Normal oil consumption should not exceed 6 ounces per hour
