ICE is annunciated by ice detection system

When must wing anti-ice be ON?

A

Ground:
OAT 5’c or below
Visible moisture (fog vis less than 1mi, rain, snow, sleet, ice crystals)
Contaminated runways (snow, standing water, slush)

W/ type 2 or 4 anti-ice fluid applied— anytime just prior to thrust increase on takeoff

Flight:
Icing conditions w/ airspeed less than 230kias (TAT 10’c - -40’c SAT)
ICE is annunciated by ice detection system

DO NOT HOLD in icing cond. w/ slays/flaps extended

Engine operating limits
Normal takeoff and maximum power (2 engines) is limited to 5min APR power (one engine) is limited to 10min ITT must be below 120’c before attempting to ground start engine

Engine must be motored for more than 60sec and fan rotation must be verified before engine start is initiated Thrust reverse must be actuated until the deploy and stow cycles are 2sec or less
