ON GROUND:
Secure ground AC and all engine and APU bleed air and return to the line.

Primary generator drive and bearing failure.

Place respective generator off and perform emergency shutdown procedures if requred.
What is the probable cause of a “CHIPS” light?
Metal particles on magnetic plug in power section or gearbox.
What is the corrective action for a “CHIPS” light?
Check for secondary indications and if noted perform emergency shutdown procedures. If no secondary indications continue and monitor.
What is the probable cause of an “OIL HOT” light?
Engine oil temp above 100°
What is the corrective action for an “OIL HOT” light?
BETA limits (100° for 30 minutes)
Open inducer valves for oil cooler augmentation.
ALPHA limits (100° for 5 minutes)
Open oil cooler flaps to cool engine oil.
What is the probable cause for an “OIL PRESS” light?
-Engine oil pressure below 40psi
or
-Gearbox oil pressure below 130psi
What is the corrective action for an “OIL PRESS” light?
If engine pressure is within limits continue operation. If not execute emergency shutdown procedures.
What is the probable cause of a “PROP PUMP” light?
Reduced flow and drop in pressure from prop 1 or 2 due to pump failure, obstruction or low oil level.
What is the corrective action for a “Prop pump” light?
Continue engine operation and refer to Prop Malfunctions chapter in NATOPS.
What is the probable cause of a “FIRE WARNING” light?
A fire exists in either the Engines or APU
What is the corrective action for a “FIRE WARNING” light?
-APU) evacuate the aircraft immediately.

What is the probable cause for a “WING HOT” light?
Air temperature in wing plenum exceeds safe limits.
MAINT NOTE
May be caused by a leak in the Bleed Air Manifold or EDC plumbing
What is the corrective action for a “WING HOT” light?
Secure wing deicing.
What is the probable cause for a “LE HOT” light?
Wing leading edge skin temperature has increased in excess of 110° C.
MAINT NOTE
(One of the modulating valves is either stuck open or not modulating)

Electrical flow to pitot heater elements has been interrupted or current flow detector is inop.

Check respective bus and monitor for proper operation.

- Gen failure
- Over/Under frequency
- Over/Under voltage
- Feeder fault
- Sup Panel failure
- TR 2/3 failure
- Associated bus monitoring switch “OFF”
What is the corrective action for a “GEN OFF” light?
- Put associated BUS MONITORING switch “ON”
- Perform generator reset procedures
- Ensure GEN 4 AUX CONT and GEN 4 TRANS circuit breakers are set.
What is the probable cause for a “TR OVHT” light?
TR overheated.
What is the corrective action for a “TR OVHT” light?
Pull respective breaker (#3 FLC, #2 MLC)
