The physical shape of a light, can be altered using Gobos
What is Angle?
Where the light comes from, can be altered using Barn-doors, causes and affects shadow
What is Intensity?
How bright a light is
What is Distribution/Spread?
How much of the stage a light covers, the hardness or softness of a light
What is Hard Light?
Light with little spread, causes defined shadows
What is Soft Light?
Light with a wide spread, causes soft, fuzzy edges
What is Focus?
The area a light physically illuminates
What are the features of Flood Lights?
Wide spread of soft light, good for general cover
What are the features of Parcan Lights?
Hard light, good for sculpting and shadow
What is a Birdie?
A miniature Parcan
What are the features of Spotlights?
Small focus designed to highlight small areas
What is a Fresnel?
A softer Spotlight
What is a Profile?
A highly adaptable Spotlight, the only lantern that can project Gobos
What is a Gobo?
A plate used to shape the beam of a light
What is a Gel?
A sheet of coloured plastic designed to colour light
What is an LED?
A light that can create coloured beams without a Gel
