Lighting Flashcards
What are the 4 contrast enhancement concepts?
Geometry (direction and source)
Structure (pattern)
Color
Filtering
What are the characteristics of vision lighting?
Measured “Intensity” (Power): Radiometric and Photometric
Frequency: Varies with wavelength
Wavelength: Expresses in nanometers
What is Reflection?
Light must interact (mostly reflect) with objects for us to see it
Specular Reflection - Back into the camera
Diffuse Reflection - Away from the camera
What is Diffusion?
Spreading or dispersal of light into the object
What are the 4 most common light sources?
LED
Quartz Halogen
Fluorescent
Xenon Strobe - Non constant
What is L70 measure?
64000 hr means after 64K hours of operation, 70% of the light power remains.
What is the Photobiological Safety standard?
IEC 62471. Id light hazards specific to UV/blue, visible, and Thermal/IR Wavelength.
What does Radiometric measure?
Measurement units of optical radiation over the ENTIRE ELECTROMAGNETIC SPECTRUM.
What does Photometric measure?
Those radiometric measures limited to the visible spectrum and scaled to the human eye response.
