Reflection
When light bounces off a surface. Think of a mirror.
Beam
A collection of many ray of light traveling together.
Transparent
When a material allows light to pass through easily. You can see clearly through it.
Light
A type of energy that allows us to see. Light travels in straight lines.
Absorption
When light is soaked up by a material and doesn’t pass through.
Refraction
When light bends as it passes through one material to another.
Translucent
When a material allows some light to pass through easily, but you can’t see through it clearly. Think of frosted glass
Opaque
When a material blocks light completely. You can’t see through it.
Emit
To send out or give off something, like light, heat, or sound.
Ray
An imaginary line that shows the direction that light travels
