Beam
A ray or shaft of light

electromagnetic energy that is transmitted as moving electric and magnetic fields. There are many different types of electromagnetic energy, e.g. light, microwaves, radio waves.

the intervening substance through which sensory impressions are conveyed or physical forces are transmitted.

the fact or phenomenon of light, radio waves, etc. being deflected in passing obliquely through the interface between one medium and another or through a medium of varying density.
