What is refraction?

It’s where light bends.

How does refraction work?
A
When light passes from one material to another it changes speed. The angle of refraction is bigger than the angle of incidence

How do we know white light has the spectrum inside it?
A
The light can be split up using a prism to see the spectrum. Light is refracted when it enters the prism and each colour is refracted by a different amount
