ligaments Flashcards
Coracohumeral Lig.
(coracoid- humerus) prevents inferior humeral translation
Glenohumeral Lig. (GH)
Ball & socket (triplanar)
Sup: prevents humeral translation anteriorly
Middle: prevents humeral translation ant & ER
Inf: prevents inferior humeral translation (weak)
Coracoacromial Arch
(corocoid- acromial) prevents superior humeral translation
Transverse Humeral Lig.
(vertical on humerus) keeps biceps tendon tethered to intertubecular groove
Acromioclavicular Lig.
(acromion- clavicle)–> prevents seperation
allows: stable & quite small
(planar joint)
Sternoclavicular Lig.
(sternum- clavicle)
type: planes
allows: gliding, protract & retract, elevate & depress
- ant sternoclavicular (clavicle- sternum)
- costoclavicular (vertical) (clavicle- ribs)
- interclavicular (horizontal) (b/w clavicles)
Subacromial Bursa
inf to acromion process
Subscapular Bursa
Directly superficial to GHJ
Glenoid Labrum
Provide more depth
collat lig (elbow & f.arm)
support med & lat
radial collat lig
(lat epicondyle- prox radius/ ular) resists varus forces in any position from flex & ext
ulnar collat lig
med epicondle- prox ulna) resists valgus forces in any position from flex & ext
collat lig (hand)
(on sides of MCP & IP joints) reisits abd & add
