What is the definition of a lifting operation
An operation concerned with the lifting or lowering load
What is a competent person
Some who is trade trained and can carry out pre use checks or who can use the lifting equipment
What is an competent person maintenance
A person who is trade trained and can carry out examinations and maintenance of lifting equipment
What does LOLER 1998 state in the RAF
- all lifting equipment should be registered with senior personal holding authority level K
- JAMES is to be used to register items held by unit
- DO NOT purchase equipment locally
- all equipment should have a valid test certificate
- must be permanently tagged or marked to indentify
What must a test certificate contain
