Standard of Care

Duty to Act
The legal responsibility to act in an emergency
Abandonment
Stopping care for a victim with out ensuring that someone of equal or higher training take over

Protecting victim privacy by not sharing personal or medical info, unless required by law
Negligence
A failure to act with reasonable care; leading to harm

Protects individuals who voluntarily aid others in emergencies from liability, provided they act in good faith and without gross negligence

A quick evaluation of airway, breathing, circulation, and severe bleeding, consiousness

A detailed head-to-toe exam after stabilizing life threats
