What is Shock?

A

life -threatening condition which occurs when the body’s circulatory system fails for some reason. Enough O2 can’t be pumped around the body.

This can lead to death.

A

-cold sweaty skin
-weak, unable to stand
-skin much paler than usual

  • excessive bleeding, internally or externally
  • failure of the heart pumping properly (HEART ATTACK)
  • hypoglycaemia
  • heavy fluid loss (VOMITING, DIARRHOEA, SEVERE BURNS)
