Once you have called the crash team, what should you do?
CPR 30:2 until the crash team arrive AND the MONITOR IS ATTACHED
Having completed DR ABC, your patient is still unresponsive, what should you do?
2222 - crash call
What rate should you do CPR at? What song is this equivalent to?
How deep should your compressions be? What should your hand and arm position be? Shoulders?
120 beats/minute
Poker face
5-6 cm (1/3 chest)
Hand in middle of nipples. Base of palm on chest, fingers not touching chest, other hand on top interlocking. Elbows straight and shoulders in line with hands (stand on stool if necessary)
What do you do once the crash team has arrived?
Continue CPR until monitor is attached, then assess rhythm
What are the 2 shockable rhythms?
VT (pulseless), VF
What power do you shock at? (for UCL exam purposes)
200J
What do you do once the shock has been delivered?
CPR for 2 minutes and then assess rhythm
Where do you place the two pads for shocking?
Sternal pad is to the right of the sternum
Apical pad is at the apex
