  • History emphasised German military

  • Jews demonized
  • All teachers had to join the Nazi teachers alliance (97% did), students informed on them if they didn’t
  • Leadership schools were set up to train officers and politicians

  • Bribed with marriage credits and child bonuses
  • In 1933 women were banned from professional posts
  • Girls were discouraged from going to university

How did Nazis try and increase the birth rate?

A
  • Mother’s cross- medal to reward those who had more children
  • Married couple get a loan of 1000 marks, but could keep 250 for each child (so if had 4, got the whole thing back)
  • Lebensborn-Aryan women were encouraged to ‘donate’ a baby to the fuhrer by having children with SS soldiers
  • Abortion and contraceptives were banned

  • In 1936 there were 30% more births then in 1933
  • Marriage increased by 21% 1933-39
  • Women liked being important, so won lots of support
