A

> Von Stauffenberg was badly injured at the Eastern front and was appalled by the atrocities of war- sought to get rid of hitler

> devised operation Valkryie to assassinate Hitler, declare martial Law and negotiate peace with the Allies.

> on 20th July 1944 he set off a bomb at a conference in Obersalzburg
