Q

What is the concept known as the “fabric of society “ and explain how character and service function to support it.

A

That each of us belong to one another in the Body of Christ. Our lives have been created by God to live in the service of Him (by identifying and sharpening of gifts and call) and the service of others (by applying the needs of the age)

44
Q

Explain what empathy means:

A

When we attempt to understand a situation from another’s perspective

45
Q

Explain how a lack of empathy caused a breakdown in communication and relationship between Jason and Romero in the “Tale of Two Perspectives”.

A

Jason was focused on “getting the job done” rather than on getting to know Romero and working together. Romero was focused on being grateful for the home that would benefit his family, rather than confronting Jason (Matthew 18) about being left out of the process.

46
Q

Explain how showing empathy could have led toward building a strong relationship between Jason and Romero in the “Tale of Two Perspectives.”

A

If Jason would have taken the time to get to know Romero he could have not only built a lifetime friendship, but also created a system where many more could benefit from his professional knowledge. If Romero would have confronted Jason, it would have provided an opportunity for Jason to realize that God called him there to build relationships, not houses.
