How was the Art and Architecture of the Ottoman empire
The painting school was called nakashane. There were 3 styles of painting, Traditional, saz and Naturalistic. The traditional style used floral elements, saz style was fanciful and imaginative, The naturalistic style was with flowers etc. There are very few surviving landmarks due to the WW2 bombings. One of them is Sahut Kula, which is a clock tower in Podgorica, Montenegro. There are two types of rugs Usak and Normal/Fur. Sinan was the Chief architect and civil engineer. He constructed more than 300 major construction, became the first officer and Janissary commander.

Ottoman medical system based on folkloristic medicine, religious medicine called prophetic medicine. Hospitals were divided into sections. The homeless were not neglected and ‘Gureba’ enjoyed free care centres.

Pythagoreans Greek mathematics and ancient greek had a systematic study on math. Euclid introduces the axiomatic method used in maths today and ottoman scholars wrote books.
Describe the Ottoman Astronomy
Ottoman astronomer, Taqi al-din built an observatory in Istanbul during the reign of Murad II. this was Compareable to Tycho Brahe’s observatory built in Denmark, Taqi al-dins sextant is similar to Brahe’s later inventions. Absorbed learning from Rome and Arab.
What was the Armenian Genocide?
In 1915 Turkish leader made a plan to attack Armenians living in the Ottoman empire. 1.5 million Armenians were killed. Armenians began asking for more rights, 300,00 to 500,00 Armenians were mascaraed due to this. This is Illegal to talk about in Turkey.
How was the Sultans Life?
The sultan lived in Topkapi Palace. His life mostly consisted of rituals copied from the Byzantine court. He slept in Different locations every night due to the threat of assassination.
What is the Topkapi Palace?
36 Ottoman rulers from 1299 to 1922 lived here. It is located in Istanbul and has many objects that give legitimacy to the empire. The most important thing here is the Prophet of Muhammad and his footprint, Brought from Egypt when Cario fell to the Ottomans.
